Loco Cat — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 September 2026

Loco Cat is an Android application published by FitEngineering. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: the app keeps your data on your device and I have no way to see it.

Who is responsible

The controller under Article 4(7) GDPR is:

Diego Antongirolami
Fürther Str. 8
90429 Nuremberg
Germany
Email: fitengineeringapps@gmail.com

What the app stores

The app stores two things on your device. The first is your own configuration — the selected scene, prey size, prey speed, sound volume, whether the scene changes on touch or rotates every two minutes, and whether the screen is locked during play — so that your setup is restored the next time you open the app. The second is a flag recording whether you have bought the ad-free version. Whether multi-device play is switched on is not saved; a session ends when you close the app.

The app keeps no play history, no profile, and no record of your cat. It does not record video, audio or images, and it has no camera or microphone access.

Both items are written to your device's private application storage. Neither is uploaded anywhere, and both are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data from Android settings.

Multi-device play

When you turn on multi-device play, one phone or tablet hosts a room and the others discover it over your local Wi-Fi network using Android's built-in network service discovery. The devices then talk directly to one another and exchange only what the shared game needs: which device is currently showing the prey, the scene, prey size and prey speed chosen for the round, the shared catch count, and — so that a room can be listed and joined — a random identifier generated for that session together with your device's model name (for example "Pixel 7"). No prey coordinates are transmitted; each device animates the prey itself while it has it. This traffic stays on your own network, never reaches the internet, and passes through no server of mine — none exists. Nothing is stored once the session ends.

What the app does not do

  • It does not ask you to create an account or provide an email address.
  • It does not operate or contact a FitEngineering server. No such server exists.
  • It does not sell or share your information with anyone.

Third-party services

The app contains exactly three Google components: the Mobile Ads SDK, the User Messaging Platform consent form, and Play Billing. It contains no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK — no Firebase Analytics, no Crashlytics, no third-party tracker of any kind.

Google AdMob

In the free version, a single full-screen advertisement is shown at the end of the first game of each app opening. There is no advertising during play, and none while your cat is at the screen. The ad is supplied by Google AdMob; to select and measure it, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may process your device's advertising identifier and app set ID, your IP address and the coarse location derived from it, your interactions with the advertisement (for example that it was shown, viewed or tapped), and technical diagnostic information about the app's performance such as start-up time, hang rate and energy use. Google acts as an independent controller for this processing. Google's practices are described in the Google privacy policy, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time under Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

In the EEA and the UK, the free version asks for your consent through Google's User Messaging Platform (a Google-certified consent management platform) before any ad is requested. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can review or withdraw that choice at any time from the ☰ menu in the app, under Privacy options, which reopens the same form. If you have bought the ad-free version, no consent is requested at all, because no advertisement is ever loaded.

Google Play Billing

The app offers a one-off in-app purchase that removes advertising permanently. Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play. I receive no payment details and no name or address — only an anonymised confirmation from Google Play that a purchase exists for that device's Google account. Once ads are removed, the Google Mobile Ads SDK is never initialised: no advertisement is requested, no advertising identifier is read, and no consent form is shown.

Permissions

  • Internet and network state — used for two things only: multi-device play over your local Wi-Fi network, and fetching the advertisement plus verifying your "remove ads" purchase with Google Play.

The app requests nothing else — no camera, no microphone, no location, no contacts, no storage access.

Children

The app is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority for Bavaria is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA).

In practice, because your app data never leaves your device, I hold nothing about you to access or erase. You exercise these rights over your own data directly: clear everything the app has stored at any time from Android Settings → Apps → Loco Cat → Storage → Clear data, or simply uninstall the app. If you have contacted me by email, that email is held as described in the website privacy notice.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects this policy, I will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing users will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
