Server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare processes technical connection data — IP address, requested URL, referrer, user agent, timestamp — in order to deliver the page and to protect the site against attacks and abuse. The legal basis is my legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in operating a secure website. Cloudflare acts as a processor under a data processing agreement; details are in the Cloudflare privacy policy.
Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the United States, so this technical connection data may also be processed on servers outside the European Union, in particular in the USA. Cloudflare, Inc. is a certified participant in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission adopted an adequacy decision on 10 July 2023, and Cloudflare's data processing addendum additionally incorporates the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. The transfer therefore takes place on the basis of Article 45(1) GDPR and, in the alternative, Article 46(2)(c) GDPR.
Analytics
None. I run no web analytics on this site — no page-view counter, no visitor profiling, no third-party measurement script. The only record of your visit is the technical connection data described above under "Server logs".
Fonts
Typefaces are served from this domain. Your browser does not contact a third-party font provider, so no request containing your IP address is made to one.
If you write to me, your message and address are processed to answer you, on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. Email is delivered to a Google mailbox; Google acts as processor for that mail. I keep correspondence only as long as needed, plus any statutory retention period that applies.
